Established by Mark Quinlan in 2009, we are a small firm focused on providing superior surveying solutions and customer service, to a growing list of discerning clients across southeast Queensland.
Mark started out by meeting with architects and engineers in the western suburbs of Brisbane, to find out what was important about the surveys they were requesting and what their experiences had been with the survey firms they were using. Surprisingly, most of them had never been visited by their surveyor and almost without exception, never been asked about the data they required, or how it was to be formatted and presented. Armed with this information he set about developing procedures and templates which could be adapted to suit each client, if desired.

Mark was fortunate to spend his formative surveying years working with his uncle Evan Westlake in the Mackay region, alternating six monthly periods of work experience with study at QIT, in Brisbane. The rural cadastral and engineering experience obtained in the Mackay region and on the adjacent coal fields, provided an excellent foundation for his subsequent career as a land surveyor.
After leaving Mackay he travelled extensively overseas, gaining varied surveying experience from working in Northern England, the Caribbean, the Middle East, the USA and Bermuda.
On his return to Australia in 2006, Mark worked as a manager with North Surveys in Brisbane, before establishing Q Spatial. Mark is a member of SSSI and registered as a Professional Land Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland.
